Forensic archaeology?
does anyone know anything about forensic archaeology, i was looking up forensic jobs on the internet and i found it.

Forensic archaeology is applying the same techniques used in forensic anthropology to archaeological specimens. Forensic anthropologists only work on bodies that are from the past 50 years, so anything over that can technically be considered archaeological but specimens are usually a bit older than that. Forensic archaeology will only deal with skeletal remains, giving height, race, gender, and if the individual had any diseases or disorders(which is also referred to as paleopathology). Anything else about the culture of the individual is dealt with by another archaeologist or anthropologist specializing in that.

Forensic Archaeology?
Simply want to know what the demand for Forensic Archaeologists in the United States is. I just recently found out that Forensic Anthropology is in very low demand...which broke my heart. I can't see this being any better, since it's basically a subdivision =/ Anywho, tell me good news people. Also, if this, indeed, is in low demand...what forensic careers have the highest? As forensics is something I want to do for life. Thanks! ^_^

You'll need to be incredibly diverse if you want to go into forensics. Biology, Chemistry, Anthropology, Genetics, Archaeology, and even Calculus if you're even going to be considered for a high ranking position in Forensic Anthropology. Forensic Archaeology is slightly different as they are much rarer because they usually are only needed in mass graves or very deep graves. Your best bet in Forensics is a Crime Scene Investigator as easiest and most abundant choice. If you're motivated beyond all belief you can try to be a Medical Examiner. It's an appointed position with a medical degree, so you have to get your medical degree and still have the state appoint you to that position. But we are on a cusp of the old generation moving on and getting replaced by the graduates here in the near future. Contacts are your best bet or try to go on the International market. So to recap: 1. Diversify your classes at school. 2. Be willing to work your way up 3. Don't get your hopes up... 4. Be willing to travel out of country. Sorry that's just the way it is. This isn't tv, there isn't a major unsolvable death every week so there isn't just that high of a demand.

What famous murder was solved using forensic archaeology?
I'm doing a paper on forensic archaeology and I need to know how it specifically was used in part or whole of a murder in finding evidence. Please help thank you! If you don't know, then don't answer!

Off hand I can think of dozens. Ted Bundy's last victim 12 year old Kimberly Leech who was abducted in a school parking lot and the case was solved with forensic archaeology. The Hair fibers from Kimberly body were found in the van Bundy used to transport her to the dumping site. Not only the hair but carpet fibers were mixed with Bundy's that placed him at the abduction scene and the murder scene. He was convicted of the murder-sentenced to death and 6 years later was executed for the rape and murder of Kimberly Leech. sp
